The New CPO Congress Portal Inspires Participants
From the 6th – 9th of May 2021, CPO HANSER SERVICE hosted the 8th World Congress on ADHD. Designed to act as a global interdisciplinary forum on ADHD, the congress brings together clinicians, scientists and other stakeholders to achieve better research results and treatment options for people with ADHD.
The first international congress was held in Würzburg, Germany, in 2007, and the World Federation on ADHD was founded a year later. The congress is held every two years and has been supported by CPO from the beginning.
In 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the congress was held virtually rather than in Prague, as initially planned. An exciting scientific program including plenary sessions, hot-topic sessions, pro- and-con debates, round table sessions, young scientist, meet-the-expert sessions, poster sessions and industry events awaited the participants on four congress days.
Positive Attendee Experience
CPO organized this congress with the newly developed congress portal, which emphasizes functionality, convenience and conceptual design:
- The intuitive navigation guides attendees through an extensive scientific program with ease.
- The congress program can be displayed in either calendar or list view, depending on attendee preference.
- To ensure a better experience, additional emphasis was placed on the colour scheme and a clear visual language, which led to a better look and feel.
The CPO congress portal is part of the web-based software product CO CONGRESS ONLINE®, which was developed by the CPO subsidiary GLOBIT GmbH, and was especially designed for scientific congresses. The congress portal can be adapted to any corporate design and enables the connection to creative formats.
Increased Participant Engagement
The CPO congress portal enables face-to-face interactions, which are similar to an in-person congress. It offers attendees a chat function (Q&A), a social wall and gamification options. Additionally, the CPO congress portal can be supported by push notifications to inform attendees of sessions taking place throughout the day. During a congress, this can drive higher engagement rates.
Increased Knowledge Transfer
Face-to-face interactions are strongly supported by the implementation of Meet-the-Expert sessions and educational seminars, which allow participants to share and deepen their scientific ideas with other experts or participants. These interactions can lead to better knowledge sharing results. Moreover, the scientific content can be accessed on-demand for up to six months after the congress has ended.
Conclusion
The CPO project team is proud of the new product. Surveys and feedback have shown that both the structure and look and feel of the new CPO congress portal have made a big difference for attendees, leading to an overall increase in time at sessions and an overall higher satisfaction.
