A New Piece of Berlin – The Humboldt Forum

In the heart of Berlin, opposite the Museum Island, you will be able to find the new Humboldt Forum. After many years under construction, the new building now stretches over 36,000 square metres and can be found in the same location where the Berlin City Palace and later the Palace of the Republic used to be during GDR times. The building consists of a combination of modern construction elements and reconstructed facades, which resemble the former baroque palace. The Humboldt Forum is a place for culture and science, that offers various restaurants, the Humboldt Laboratory (a place for networking, discussion, exchange, interdisciplinarity and internationality, as well as a platform for the debate of current pressing issues), various exhibitions, outstanding collections, interesting events and much more.
