Design Hotel in the Hochbunker

A design and lifestyle hotel with around 130 rooms is set to open on the roof of the high-rise bunker, which is located in the heart of Hamburg, by the end of 2021. The grey concrete colossus towers almost 50 metres above the Heiligengeistfeld (event site used for fun fairs etc.) between St. Pauli and the Schanzenviertel and has long since become a landmark of Hamburg.
The "St. Pauli bunker" is currently being extended upwards with five pyramid-like storeys. In addition to adding to the new hotel, parts of the extension will serve as a memorial and information centre. Furthermore, there will also be rooms for the city’s cultural exhibitions and a modern hall for events of all kinds, with a capacity for up to 2,200 people. The spectacular highlight, which will be situated on the new floors, is the publicly accessible park, which will allow people to relax while taking in a view of the city. The walk along the green "mountain path", which is located around the outside of the bunker, will be an outstanding experience.
