IAP – Pathology World Congress in Jordan

A special and great destination at the lowest point on earth

It was CPO’s first congress in Middle East and a new experience. Everything went well and according to CPO’s master plan. Not only the CPO staff members but also the 1,400 participants were impressed by the stunning congress building in oriental style. Everyone felt the special atmosphere at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, located on the eastern shores of the Dead Sea, at the lowest point on earth.

The XXXII Congress of the International Academy of Pathology (IAP) offered its participants a rich scientific and a rich cultural environment! The hosts spared no effort: At the opening ceremony Jordan’s Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz attended, together with the Minister of Health, Dr. Salah Mawajdeh. Various speakers welcomed the international participants followed by local musicians and dancers in colorful costumes. The following days were full of high caliber scientific sessions – well attended from early morning till late afternoon.

The Congress ended with a gala evening outside on the terrace of the conference centre with a panoramic view over the Dead Sea, with exquisite food from the Middle East and local music inviting the participants to dance.

CPO looks forward to the upcoming IAP Congress in Glasgow, Scotland in 2020 – or, in other words: From Mezze to Haggis.
